DHS Student Council is working to help support the hurricane relief cause. They are raising money for victims of Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and potentially Hurricane Jose.
Many people have been affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. It is important that we as a nation come together to support these places in this hard time.
Freshmen Student Council President, Lauren Horner, talked about what student council hopes to accomplish by taking donations.
“Many people have been affected and lost important things in life due to Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma,” Horner said. “We want to help them rebuild their lives. By gathering donations and supplies, we hope to make a difference in these devastating events.”
Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma victims are in need of help, they have lost many things and are still suffering from the effects of the storms. A donation table is available in all three lunch periods where you can donate money, and you can donate school supplies in the main office or the library. Every donation will go to help the hurricane relief cause and it is encouraged to donate what you can, no matter how small. This is the last week that they will accept donations.
